Urban Compassion Project Celebrates it’s First Annual 5K Compassion Run
Urban Compassion Project is thrilled to share the success of our inaugural 5K Compassion Run, which took place on November 18, 2023, around the beautiful Lake Merritt. Big thank yous to everyone who joined us in this meaningful event to support Oakland’s unhoused community.
Due to the collective effort of participants and volunteers we were able to raise not only funds but also awareness for the challenges faced by our unhoused neighbors. It was an opportunity to reflect on the impact of our collective efforts and to share stories of progress and perseverance.
We are inspired by the community’s response and are already looking forward to organizing the next 5K Compassion Run. This event has shown us the power of community action, and we are motivated to continue our work with even greater determination.
For those who couldn’t join us this time, we hope to see you at future events. Your support, whether through participation, donations, or volunteer work, is invaluable in our mission to provide aid and raise awareness for the unhoused population in Oakland.
Thank you once again to everyone involved. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and compassion have made a significant difference, and together, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and caring Oakland.
