DESCRIPTION:UCP 5K Community Run & Walk • April 18 \n👟Join us for a morning of movement\, community\, and impact! \n🌎We’re hosting a fun\, community 5K around the lake to celebrate the progress we’ve made together across Oakland and Earth Month! \n💪Over the past few years\, Urban Compassion Project has cleared millions of pounds of illegal dumping\, mobilized more than 4\,000 volunteers\, fought for systemic change\, and supported thousands of individuals living on the fringes. This run is about honoring that impact\, the people behind it\, and our planet. \nCheck-in: 10:00–10:30 AM\nRun start: 11:00 AM (after brief intros and volunteer awards)\nEvent ends: 1:00 PM\nLocation: Lake Merritt – Check back for starting location\nRegistration: $35 (sign-up fees directly support UCP’s operations\, helping us continue cleanups\, outreach\, and community-driven work across Oakland) \n👕The first 100 registrants will receive a UCP 5k 2026 commemorative t-shirt! \n🌯We’ll have food provided by our incredible partner Taqueria Azteca\, and we’ll be celebrating some of the volunteers who have shown up again and again to make this work possible. \n💞Come to hang out\, walk\, run\, and enjoy our beautiful lake.
